The "design”
winery of Adega Mayor, is an Alentejo landmark, distinct but with soul
and characterized by the undeniable work of the prestigious Portuguese
architect, Siza Vieira.
The winery was officially opened in 2007, but Adega Mayor has been producing wines on its 65 hectares of vineyards, since 2002. The vineyards are spread over two estates which produce the Adega Mayor brands "Monte Mayor”, "Touriga Nacional”, "Reserva do Comendador” and "Garrafeira do Comendador”.
The oenologist Paulo Laureano and his dedicated team are responsible for creating these nectars each with their own personality but all of which reveal the tradition and sophistication of an Alentejo wine waiting to be discovered.
