They are continually making improvements to the property and upgradinge the family project with regular investment.
About 25 hectares of the vines are planted with red grape varietals and 5 hectares with white, using the most popular Alentejo varietals: Trincadeira and Aragonez (red), and Arinto and Antão Vaz (white). A smaller number of other varietals have been planted which help create the uniqueness of the "Comenda Grande” portfolio of wines. These include: Alfrocheiro, Tinta Caiada, Alicante Bouschet, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah (reds) and Verdelho (whites).
Our team of oenologists was founded by Professor Colaço do Rosário and engineer Francisco Pimenta, producers of great wines of rare quality and distinction.
