At Serra de São Mamede’s slope, over massive granite a rustic hill rises and spreads over a vineyard with more than 100 years. Located in Frangoneiro, at the borders of Portalegre, in Alto Alentejo’s lands, there’s Tapada do Chaves, a property producing wines of recognized quality for about a century now. Wine-producing properties with more than a century are rare in Alentejo. Tapada do Chaves is, therefore, a unique example in this region. It’s a special place, singular, due to its heritage and its orography.
