It was with the Alvarinho variety in Monção and Melgaço that Anselmo Mendes began to produce in 1998.
Currently he mainly uses three grapes from three sub-regions of the Vinhos Verdes region: Alvarinho from Monção and Melgaço, Loureiro from the Lima Valley and Avesso from Baião. But Alvarinho is his grape of choice and the one in which he has invested more time and dedication, seeking to take full advantage of its natural characteristics and potentialities.
It currently produces 700,000 bottles, with more than 70% being sold to the international market.
