It was in the 80’s that one of the owners, João Pedro Araujo, began to professionalize and modernise Casa de Cello’s activity. He did the reorganization of the existing structure and implanted the best viticultural and oenological technologies, to get the optimal expressions of its "terroirs” in the wine.
- Quinta da Vegia, situated in Dão region, near Penalva de Castelo, has 20 ha of vineyard. The grape varieties were carefully chosen - Touriga-Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela and Tinto Cão – to create the Quinta da Vegia wines and Porta Fronha wines.
- Quinta de Sanjoanne, situated in the middle of "Entre-Douro e Minho” region, near Amarante, was submitted to a total restructure of its vineyards. Nowadays, 14 ha of vineyards are managed, with the following grape varieties - Arinto, Alvarinho, Loureiro, Avesso, Malvazia Fina and Chardonnay, from which Quinta de Sanjoanne and Leiras Mancas wines are made.
