Quinta da Pedra Alta, located above the Pinhão River in the highest part of the Cima Corgo sub-region of the Douro Valley, is one of the ‘new wave’ of Portuguese producers making wines in an ‘approachable Douro’ style.
Our 35ha of terraced vineyards sit between 230 and 550 metres above sea level and are planted with a selection of indigenous grape varieties on schist soils. They are also home to 3 of the granite markers (Feitoria) that were put in place in 1761 for the demarcation of the Port region. Our site enables us to produce a complete ‘dinner party’ range - from aperitif (White Port), through aromatic and textural whites, to fresher lighter reds, richer styles of red and on to Vintage and Tawny Ports.
