Quinta do Gradil with 200 hectares, is located on the western
foothills of the Serra de Montejunto, in the transition between the area
of the humid winds from the Atlantic and the permanent winds from the
West, and the region of dry summers and has 120 hectares of vineyards.
Quinta do Gradil, considered as one of the oldest estates, if not
the oldest one, part of Cadaval Municipality, acquired by the Marquis of
Pombal, and since 1999 property of Luís Vieira economist, born in
Fátima city. The historical buildings include a Pombaline palace, a
chapel, a Mill what today is a restaurant, a stone aqueduct, a "mãe de
água” or water house and a wine shop.
